Part of the prestigious Viva Group of hotels, the 3 key Viva Alcudia Sun Village is situated close to a small lake, around 500 metres from the beach, in the popular resort of Playa de Muro on the north coast of Majorca. The complex is approximately 60km north of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a small selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Built in 1988 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2006-7, the modern low rise Viva Alcudia Sun Village has a total of 203 guest rooms, including 159 one bedroom self catering apartments, 2 two bedroom apartments and a further 42 studio flats, all of which are distributed between 6 two storey buildings, and set amidst almost 8,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area. All guest rooms on the complex are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower, along with an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, and a combined lounge/dining room with sofa beds, a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above, 5 apartments have also been specially adapted for disabled guests, and all rooms are provided with a maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen every 3 days. Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange service, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, snack bars, public internet terminals, a supermarket, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children\'s splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children\'s playground and mini club as well as mini golf and both pool and table tennis tables. The Viva Alcudia Sun Village also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children\'s mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
