Part of the Cadenamar Group of hotels, the 3 star Aparthotel Rio Mar is situated around 150 metres from the beach in the popular resort of Playa de Muro on the north coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 60km north of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and a few steps from the commercial centre of the resort, where you will find a small selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Built in 1987 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 1997, the modern low rise Aparthotel Rio Mar has a total of 120 guest rooms, including 56 one bedroom self catering apartments and a further 64 studio flats, which are built over 4 floors and set amidst almost 4,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area. All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a modern fully fitted bathroom with shower along with an open plan kitchenette with 2 electric rings and microwave, and a combined lounge/dining room with direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for hire and either a balcony or terrace, many of which have either pool or garden views. In addition to the above, a maid service is also provided undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week. Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, along with a games room, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, public internet terminals, an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with separate children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children’s playground, squash and tennis courts and both pool and table tennis tables. The Aparthotel Rio Mar also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring boules, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
