Part of the Protur Group of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Sa Coma Playa is situated along the central east coast of Majorca in the quiet "El Dorado" district of Sa Coma and close to the Punta N'Amer Natural Park. The hotel is approximately 65km east of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and 350 metres from both the Sa Coma resort centre with its selection of bars, restaurants and cafes, and the wide sandy resort beach. Built in 1985 and fully refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern Hotel Sa Coma Playa has a total of 326 guest rooms, including 250 twin rooms, 15 suites and 61 single rooms, that are built over 7 floors and set amidst 20,000m2 of landscaped Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces. All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have pool and garden views. In addition to the above, a maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week. Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, along with a luggage room, laundry service, public internet terminals with wireless internet access, games room, air conditioned buffet and á la carte "La Luna" restaurants serving a choice of international and local cuisine, and both lounge and pool bars. For business guests, the Hotel Sa Coma Playa also offers a choice of three conference and meeting rooms, seating between 50 to 200 people, all of which are equipped with the latest state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests include a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool with a separate children's section, and sun terraces furnished with loungers and parasols, as well as a smaller indoor heated pool open during the cooler winter months, with Jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasium. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground, mini club and a multi-purpose sports pitch for volleyball and football etc. The Hotel Sa Coma Playa also provides a seasonal programme evening entertainment with live music, cabaret and other professional shows several times each week. Guests staying at the Hotel Sa Coma Playa are also welcome to use the sporting and leisure facilities at the nearby "Sa Coma Sports Club" complex which includes 18 clay surface tennis courts, available both for the beginner and the more experienced player, along with the 54 hole "Golf Paradis" mini golf course, two squash courts and a 25,000 m2 golf driving range with bunkers and putting green. Close to the Hotel Sa Coma Playa is the modern Biomar Thalassa and Wellness Centre which offers guests the opportunity to experience a variety of cosmetic treatments including the hydrothermal circuit, sauna, Turkish bath and ice cave along with a selection of other facial and body treatments.
