Part of the D'or Group of hotels, the 3 star Hotel Punta del Mar is situated on a rocky headland in the quiet Costa de la Calma district of the popular resort of Santa Ponsa on the south west coast of Majorca. The hotel is approximately 30km west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and around 1km from both the Santa Ponça resort centre with its wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops, and the wide sandy resort beach. Built in 1988 and extensively renovated during the winter of 2004, the modern Hotel Punta del Mar has a total of 186 guest rooms, including 127 double rooms, 26 singles and a further 33 apartments, which are built over 7 floors and set amidst spacious Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces overlooking the Santa Ponsa bay. All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season and come equipped a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace with sea views. In addition to the above, a maid service is also provided undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week. Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant, luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, laundry and medical services, a games room, public internet terminals and both lounge and pool bars.
