The Tamaimo Tropical Apartments are a three star complex that were constructed in 1989 and renovated in 1997. The complex is located in the area of Puerto Santiago, 400 metres from the beach, 100 metres from the centre of town and 50 kilometres Reina Sofia Airport. They are positioned against a mountain backdrop offering views of the cliffs of Los Gigantes and the island of Gomera. The Tamaimo Tropical complex has 202 one and two bedroom apartments and some studio type units, all equipped with terrace or balcony, bathroom and shower, telephone, kitchenette with fridge, toaster, cooker, satellite television and safety deposit box. The majority offer pool, garden, sea or mountain views and some apartments have disabled access. Facilities at the apartments include two pool bars, open air barbecue, a la carte restaurant, snack bar, jacuzzi, children's play area and two tennis courts. There are also five swimming pools, including two children's pools, conference rooms located on site and live music every night at the lobby bar. Sports activities at the complex include table tennis, pool tables, mini-golf, volleyball, football and basketball.
